Ntchisi man murders friend over woman
A man in Ntchisi has allegedly murdered his 49-year-old friend over a woman.
The man is now at large. The incident happened on Sunday at Nandeta Village in Traditional Authority (T/A) Kalumo in Ntchisi District.
Ntchisi Police spokesperson Gladson M’bumpha said the deceased, Julius Chidatha, and the suspect, Uliya Mapondela disagreed after Chidatha eloped with the wife of the suspect and left the village in September last year to live at Mtangowanthenga in Dowa.
“The deceased settled at Mtengowanthenga in Dowa and came back to his home village at Nandeta.
“It was on Sunday when the deceased and the suspect met on the road from his home village to Ng’ombe Trading Centre within Ntchisi District,” said M’bumpha.
He said the suspect stabbed Chidatha with a knife.
Chidatha died on the spot. “The suspect ran away after committing the offence.
“The matter was reported to police who rushed to the scene where the dead body was viewed. Marks of violence were noticed,” said M’bumpha.
A Postmortem conducted at Ntchisi District Hospital revealed that death was caused due to severe loss of blood as a result of deep cut off jaguar veins.
M’bumpha said investigations are underway to arrest the suspect to answer the charge of murder.
The deceased came from Chidatha Village while the suspect comes from Nandeta Village in the same T/A.
So heartless, was it necessary to take his life the victim’s life? no wonder the wife dumped him, he lacks humanity. He may run but can not hide.
