Loveness Nyakamera has officially become the Malawi’s second women football export after clinching a one-year deal with South African club Kanatala FC.

Following the development, the national team forward, who underwent three-week trials at the club, is now entitled to K350 000 (R10 000) monthly salary, K122 500 (R3 500) weekly upkeep allowance and K105 000 (R3 000) game bonus.

However, Ntopwa Queens’ winger Chrissy Kasiya and her twin sister Mwayi’s fate at Kanatala FC and Mary’s FC respectively, will be known during the week, according to the facilitator of the deals, Prince Jere.

“We got the news last weekend that Nyakamera has impressed the South African club. But we are yet to be told on the deals for the other two players. The teams said they will let us know the fate of the twin sisters during the week,” Jere said on Wednesday.

The 20-year-old made an impressive start to her trials at the South African team three weeks ago when she scored in Kanatala FC’s 3-2 beating of Super Sweepers in a friendly.

Nyakamera, who played for King’s Ladies FC, Zomba City Queens and Blantyre Zero before searching for greener pastures in the Rainbow Nation, is second to national team captain Chisomo Kazisonga as Malawi’s international women football export. Kazisonga captains Zimbabwean Super League side Conduit Soccer Academy.

Jere is also facilitating trials for national team and Blantyre Zero stars Sungeni Msiska and Pilirani ‘Pido’ Malora. The two left the county last weekend to try their luck at South African outfit Clouses FC.

Dreams United striker Eliza Chiphang’ombe and King’s Ladies FC midfielder Linda Chilewe will next month leave for Zimbabwe where they will be in for a pick at Auckland Queens FC.
