Flames striker Atusaye Nyondo registered his second goal in three Absa Premiership games in South Africa on Sunday.

Nyondo netted when his University of Pretoria beat Peter Wadabwa’s Golden Arrows 2-0. Ugandan Geoffrey Massa joined Nyondo on the score sheet.

Wadabwa came in on the 70th minute for Dumisani Zwane.

The win moves Pretoria to 10th place on the log with seven points from six matches while Arrows remain in 13th place with four points.

There was some good news for Esau Kanyenda, who put in a solid display helping his Polokwane City beat Ajax Cape Town 2-0. City moved off the foot of the 16-member league.

They scored through Thapelo Tshilo and Siphesihle Nzimande. City sacked coach Duncan Lechesa last week.

On Saturday, Robert Ng’ambi’s Platinum Stars lost 2-1 to Kaizer Chiefs.

“I think from a Platinum Stars point of view, Tsotso [Mogakolodi Ngele] could have come more into the game with Robert [Ng’ambi]. I also do not think our wingers did enough, so we could have got more joy from the wings and we did not,” Stars coach Allan Freese told Supersport television.

In Mozambique, Simplex Nthala, Foster Namwela, Vincent Chinthenga and Rafik Mussa’s Ferroviaro de Nampula lost 1-0 to HCB Songo on Saturday.

Songo are home to Malawians Dangalira Mnelemba and Fred Chindipha. But Joseph Kamwendo was on the winning end after his Liga Maculmana beat Chingale 1-0. Desportivo de Nacala and Maxaquene of Chiukepo Msowoya drew 1-1.
