Oasis Furniture is planning on expanding its tentacles into the cities of Blantyre and Mzuzu as one way of reaching out to many customers.

Oasis Furniture business development manager Rex Daud said they have decided to expand because they have served Lilongwe for a long time.

The shop, which stocks all kinds of office and household furniture, was opened in 2002.

“We opened our shop in Malawi in 2002 and the following year, we opened another shop in Zimbabwe. This year, we plan of going to Mzuzu and Blantyre so that our customers get the best furniture from Malaysia,” said Daud.

He said demand for good furniture was the reason they opened their shop, adding that business has been steadily picking up since 2002.

“Our prices are reasonable, and the quality of furniture is world-class. We accept local purchase orders and provide free transport to customers within Lilongwe,” said Daud.

With 16 employees on its pay roll, Daud said they now want to buy machines and make boards within the country.

“Some of the components of the machines have started arriving and once we start manufacturing the boards, prices of our furniture will go down considerably,” he said.
