OG Plastics Cricket in semi-final stage

MSC Orange, MSC Silver, MSC Gold Fattani and Indian Sports Club (ISC) have confirmed their qualification into semi-finals of the OG Issa Plastics 25 Overs Cricket Tournament following their victories on Sunday.

Sarfraz Vadia claimed 8 wickets in 5 overs and made 22 runs as MSC Orange restricted hosts Oriental Cricket Club (OCC) to a frustrating 39 runs finish all-out. Irfan Vadia and Imtiyaz Kara were also thorns in the flesh to OCC following their individual efforts of 39 runs and 34 runs respectively.

“So far, so good,” said Kara after their triumph.

“It was painful to miss the FMB title recently, but now we are back in form and we will not let this OG Plastics title slip through our fingers again.”

At the same venue, ISC beat FMB League runners-up MSC White by 10 runs after making 155 runs.

Salim Popi’s individual contribution of 50 runs in the first innings seemed useless as it could not help MSC Blue overcome the league champions, MSC Silver, who bowled them out with 122 runs in just 13.1 overs at Mpingwe Sports Club (MSC).

Asif and Tosif Rustam were outstanding in MSC Silver’s hunt for the semi-final slot as they made 50 runs and 46 runs respectively.

MSC Gold Fattani were also on song in the last quarter-final match at the MSC where they beat MSC Grey by 2 runs. MSC Gold made 170 runs whereas MSC Grey made 168 runs.

This means MSC Orange will now face ISC in the first semi-final at the MSC next Sunday whereas MSC Silver will take on MSC Gold Fattani at the same venue.
