Mzimba Police spokesperson Gift Nyirongo on Monday identified the deceased as Chisomo Mkandawire, 34, of Penyani Village in Traditional Authority T/A Mpherembe in Mzimba.

According to Nyirongo, the minibus a Nissan Vanette registration BR 9612 was coming from Mzimba heading to Jenda with 14 people on board.

Upon reaching Kazomba, two tyres on the left side moved outleading to the driver’s loss of control.

“As police we are appealing to drivers to check their cars for faults before getting on the road. They should also avoid over speeding. Passengers should also control drivers when they notice that they are over speeding,” said Nyirongo.
