Newly-turned gospel singer Onesimus, who was known as Armstrong before his transition, has released a tribute song Happy Birthday Papa to coincide with Prophet Shepherd Bushiri’s birthday on Monday.

In an interview with The Nation, the musician says that he wants to show appreciation to his “spiritual father” and surprise him with the single.

The song, which has been produced at Chit Chat Records in Lilongwe’s Area 18, will be played during Bushiri’s birthday gala which will be held in South Africa in two weeks’ time.

“This song will not be included in my album Worship Core. But there is progress on the album and pretty soon people should be ready to be blessed with my singles from the album,” promises Onesimus.

Onesimus pledges international collaborations with Jesus Culture, Hilsong, Kirk Franklin and Sipho Makhabane on Worship Core.

However, none of these collaborations have been recorded.

He promises to make release dates for singles from the album will be available before the end of this month.
