Another moment of hosting international musicians returns in May with the coming of the South African house and kwaito music legend, Oskido.

Oskido is a Zimbabwean- born South African musician aged 47.

He is known for disc jockeying, music composition, recording and producing.

Malawi has been getting the best from South Africa, but without tasting Oskido’s quality, then there is a lot to appreciate from the city of gold.

Oskido is touted as one of the best producers of best hits released in South Africa.

Artists such as Professor, Bongo Maffin, Uhuru and Mafikizolo are some that owe their success to Oskido’s skills.

For several times, music show organisers have fallen short in selecting artists that can create a huge anticipation in fun-lovers in Malawi, but Wakawaka has just hit the jackpot with this selection.

Oskido, whose birth name is Oscar Mdlongwa, is behind most hits dominating club dance floors across the continent.

His coming to Malawi is timely and promises thrills as fun-lovers are geared to dance to live performance of hits such as Come Closer and Y’tjukukja.

Wakawaka Europa Hotel manager Kondwani Chale says all is set for the show.

“We have been in touch with Oskido’s manager and we are ready to host the king of South African music. We got the contract and we have agreed to pay the sum in demand. We have also paid part of the money and its official that he will perform at the hotel on May 4,” said Chale.

Wakawaka, which has replaced Mungo Park in hosting shows in Lilongwe, struggled to handle the hundreds of patrons at the gates when another big name South African artist Big Nuz performed at the hotel.

But Chale says the space is ready to host hundreds of patrons and they are already drafting a plan to manage patrons both at the gates and inside so that everyone enjoys the performance.
