The Public Affairs Committee (PAC) is this Wednesday scheduled to meet Malawi President Joyce Banda to share with her resolutions from a recent conference PAC organised.

PAC’s executive director Robert Phiri, in a response to a questionnaire on Tuesday, confirmed they are meeting the President at Sanjika Palace in Malawi’s commercial city, Blantyre.

Phiri said: “Basically, PAC intends to share outcomes of the conference held in October, 2012, and some observations on the political landscape.

“However, I can’t give you specifics because the caucus will define exactly what is to be discussed.”

The meeting, Phiri said, is part of advocacy on some issues of national concern.

“Both communiqués from the first conference and second will guide our strategy in the advocacy intervention…It is a process rather than just conferences. We will continue to interface with decision makers depending on issues that affect our society.

This would be the first time PAC engages the President since she assumed power in April this year following the death of Mutharika.

Phiri said the meeting was planned for as part of constructive engagement, with decision makers with support from Tilitonse Fund.
