PAC chairperson Alekeni Menyani said in an interview on Monday it was clear that prioritisation of committee meetings was a challenge at Parliament Secretariat; hence, the committee would like to understand the process.

During the last meeting of Parliament, the House passed a motion calling for the financial and administrative independence of the National Assembly.

The motion came about after noting that Treasury, which was responsible for paying subscription fees to international bodies, had not done so for several years while funding to committee meetings is erratic.

Recently, Parliament and the Executive were also rocked in a verbal war with the latter accusing

the Legislature of blowing its budget on travel at the expense of committee meetings. n
