Public Affairs Committee (PAC) has said cries on problems arising from a ‘failed unitary system of government’ are emerging from all regions and people should stop treating calls for change as a regional issue. The problems being faced are national.

Said Mulomole:“It could be that people in the North are vocal, but the problems arising from the system are being faced everywhere. We should treat it as a national problem. Malawians should debate this matter with sober minds.” Mulomole said there is need for people to be sensitised to what federalism is about so that when they debate and make decisions, they should have a clear backing. Coalition for Federalism general secretary Harris Kanyelemuka said PAC needs to move at a faster pace to sensitise masses to federalism. He said PAC has to come up with a calendar for the sensitisation campaign as soon as possible so that people are educated on what federalism is to make right decisions. PAC is conducting regional consultations on federalism and unitary system of government to get views of people so that it can embark on sensitisation campaign. 
