Parliament hails Flames

Listen to this article

Members of Parliament on Monday put their political differences aside and took time to congratulate the Flames for beating Chad 2-0 to qualify for the final round of qualification of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

The MPs took turns to salute the Flames after Youth and Sports Minister Enoch Chakufwa Chihana raised the issue on a lighter moment.

Said Chihana: “Mr. Speaker Sir, the House is out of order for not congratulating the Flames for beating Chad on Saturday.”

In response, the Speaker Henry Chimunthu Banda said: “We would like to congratulate the Flames for beating Chad 2-0.”

Other MPs also took turns to pat the Flames on the back.
