PCL elects new Board of Directors

Press Corporation Limited (PCL) has elected Patrick Willie Khembo as the new chairman of the board to succeed Simon Itaye who resigned from the board after serving as director for eighteen years.
According to a statement released on Tuesday, Khembo was elected after a special meeting of the Company’s Board of Directors held on May 5, 2016. The statement, which hailed Itaye for his leadership, further congratulated Khembo on his election.

“The Board and Executive Management of PCL express their gratitude to Mr. Itaye for his commitment and leadership; and, congratulate Mr Khembo on his election as Chairman and wish him success,” read the statement signed by company secretary Benard Ndawu.
Khembo, who chaired the Board’s Risk Committee until his election, is an agronomist, having graduated from the University of Malawi with a BSc in Agriculture. Itaye resigned from PCL on April 25th this year on what he described as personal reasons.
Khembo now heads PCL’s Board of Directors which comprises Chris Kapanga, Andrew Barron, Bernard Zingano, Patrick Mhango, Pius Mulipa and the group’s Chief Executive Officer, Mathews Chikaonda.
