People abusing ART in Machinga

Listen to this article

Some people living with HIV in Machinga are abusing antiretroviral therapy (ART) services by using three health passports with different names to enable them to draw ARVs from different health centres in the district with an aim of selling them.

This was disclosed in Liwonde recently during Kalondolondo Programme on a Report on Assessment of Antiretroviral and HIV Testing Services organised by Youth Net and Counselling (Yoneco).

Kalondolondo is an eight-year programme being implemented by a consortium of Plan Malawi, Action Aid and the Council for Non-governmental Organisations in Malawi (Congoma) with funding from Usaid and Plan UK.—Mana
