If I were

Peter Mutharika

Listen to this article

President of the Republic of Malawi, I would realise that when I have made it a tendency to find excuses not to attend to important matters such as meeting the Public Affairs Committee (PAC) and to answer questions from members of Parliament(MPs), then it raises questions about my seriousness on matters of national importance.

If I were H.E,  I would realise that the picture I am painting out there is that I am just trying to dodge the prospects of providing answers to the issues that were raised at the PAC meet—a picture of a man who is clueless, directionless and hopeless.

If I cannot find time to accommodate PAC and field questions from MPs on the basis of a tight schedule, then one wonders where my priorities are because these are people who want answers from me on issues that directly affect Malawians.

If only I were the President, I would accept the harsh reality that it is baffling that I find time to preside over the opening of a company and yet I am finding it difficult to accommodate PAC and MPs in my so called crammed diary.

Perhaps, if I were Mutharika, I would tell PAC the truth that I have not yet found answers to the issues that were raised other than dilly-dallying.

That is if only I were APM, but I am not the gentleman of the ‘Ndiribe pulobulemu’ fame. n
