After releasing an album recently, rapper Phyzix is back in the studio for another project.

The artist is working on a collaboration with up-and-coming Eli Njuchi of The Book of Z fame.

According to Phyzix, there is good progress so far ahead of the release of the single next month with both parties putting in the effort to give fans the best.

“It comes out early September because I want to give space to my latest single; Jealousy. As of now, we are still juggling concepts by working on the instrumental, choosing the right melodies and we start recording over the weekend.

Still busy: Phyzix

“The producer is sending the work in progress back and forth to Eli and for input and direction. Macia, a young and promising producer working closely with Eli, is handling production while recording and post-production will be done by Stich Fray,” said the rapper.

Added Phyzix: “I am a very big fan of Eli’s music. It’s an honour working with him. I think he’s one of the special young ones who will carry the music industry forward. He’s a prodigy.”

Already, the artist is enjoying attention courtesy of his Gamba Season EP released in April this year. Just a few days ago, he also dropped a single Jealousy which  features rappers Stunner from Zimbabwe and Zambia’s Stevo.

The collaboration is a continuation of a journey he set out in January this year “focusing on my pure hip hop fans”. I would like to make more mass appeal music about everyday life

relatable to most people. I feel that’s one of the strengths Eli has.”

“My focus going forward is to collaborate more with artists from other countries. After working with Stunner and Stevo, I will be releasing a new song with a Nigerian soon.

“I am also in talks with artists from other countries within and outside Africa. I will continue to release music videos as promised as I keep finding ways to keep the fans entertained during these Covid-19 days. I have received massive support this year from fans. I am thankful. I will continue to give them my best,” he explained.

In a separate interview, Stitch Fray said fans should look out for something good dispite the two musicians doing different kinds of music.

“It is exciting as I am working with Eli Njuchi for the first while I have been with Phyzix since 2016. I am working with him as a mixing and mastering engineer and I know his touch better. But at the end of it all, music is music, what differs is just the genre so despite the two differing in their touch, they will fuse what they do and come up with something good. It will not be a challenge,” he said.

Meanwhile, Phyzix says he is already working on a new EP scheduled for release in February 2021 release.
