Sendeza rapper Piksy will be in a special music show dubbed ‘Kora Night’ at Blue Elephant in Blantyre tonight to celebrate and drum support for his Kora Awards nomination.

This is not the first time artists are involved in celebration after their songs got nominated in reputable competitions.

Piksy: Sometimes is hard to balance career and family matters
Piksy faces stiff competition from other nominees

Last week MultiChoice Malawi threw a cocktail dinner at Blantyre’s Ryalls Hotel for Zomba Prison Band which was nominated and missed the jackpot in Grammy Awards.

“It has pleased Damixmasters, I and Maskal to join my fans and celebrate together the nomination of my song in the Kora Awards. I don’t take the nomination for granted because it’s an achievement,” said Piksy.

Piksy faces stiff competition from other nominees such as Zambia’s Petersen, C4 Pedro and Coreon Du from Angola, AKA from South Africa and Namibia’s Gazza but he is confident about his work.

“If the song was nominated it shows that Malawi has potential and what is remaining is for people to vote. The toughest thing is any competition lies in getting people’s confidence to nominate you but the rest is histroy,” said Piksy.

The former Airtel Malawi brand Ambassador will perform alongside his long-time music buddy Maskal whom together did Wa CV which catapulted them to fame.

“We are set to take fans down the memory lane with Wa CV while drumming up support for Piksy for people to keep on voting for him. It’s a pleasure to give our fans the best,” said Maskal.

The two emcees will be supported by Aceejizy, DJ Flexor, VJ Ice, DJs Reuble and Flame.

Piksy said the show will unveil Aceejizy, a talented budding MC.

“It is my responsibility to promote upcoming talents by sharing the stage together and expose to the world of live music. I recognize the fact that I was once a kid on the music bloc who relied on others to give me a hand as well,” said Piksy, real name Evans Zangazanga. n
