Malawi’s urban music star Piksy is back in the studio recording his first album since partying ways with Nde’feyo Entertainment.

Speaking when unveiling the project, the musician said he is in the studio

and will be releasing his first single for the album soon.

“I am in the studio recording the first single. I am doing the beats alone, and the voices are being recorded at 1, 2, 3 records,” he said, adding that there are more consultations on the release than what he did before to ensure he has good productions.

Most musicians are predictable, but Piksy, whose releases have been more of self esteem, said the new production mark a new chapter in his career in terms of quality and direction.

listened to part of the yet-to-be-released single. At first listen, you can hardly associate it with Piksy as it has different lyrics.

Even the voicing and message content is slightly different from the previous recordings.

“I am inspired by 2Face. When he was in Malawi he said he makes sure his songs are danceable, but with some educative messages. Listeners should not just dance. This is what was in my previous songs. This time around, I am combining the two. It is time to dance while educating with advisory compositions and that is what I am calling maturity,” he said.

Pisky disclosed that most of the hits are in Chichewa and the productions are self-sponsored plus additional sponsorship from his manager Promise Matatiyo and Airtel.

He added that the yet-to-be-named album will also include collaboration hits with international artists.

“I am still discussing with two Airtel ambassadors from Zambia and Nigeria and am optimistic that the singles will be in the album,” he said, adding that he wants the album out but mid-year.
