PIS cycling race to produce African Championships reps

Top cyclists in the forthcoming Presidential National Cycling Championships will qualify for the 2013 African Cycling Championships in Egypt in November, the Cycling Federation of Malawi (CFM) has said.

According to CFM general secretary Jimmy Kadewere, the Presidential race for men and women respectively, which will cover 150 kms set for May 25 from Dwangwa in Nkhotakota to Chintheche in Nkhata Bay.

Kadewere told The Nation at the weekend that the best three in each category will be considered for the international trip only if they meet the qualifying time.

For men, they have to complete their 150-kilometre race within three hours to make the grade while women will be required to cross the finishing line in two and a half hours,” said Kadewere.
