“A thorough review of the Sulom constitution and the rules and regulations confirms that the power to deal with issues of promotion and relegation vests in the Sulom executive. There is no basis for going outside the provisions of the Sulom constitution and applicable rules and regulations,” reads the ruling in part.

Sulom has since been ordered to reschedule the remaining two matches between Dedza Young Soccer Saints and the other two relegated teams Airborne Rangers and Wizards.

The ruling reads: “Sulom must reschedule the remaining play-off matches herein as soon as is reasonably possible and must allow Dedza Young Soccer Saints to participate in the said play-offs in order to determine the 16th team.

“The result of the game already played in the play offs between Wizards and Airborne Rangers FC which was concluded before the play-offs were suspended by an order of injunction will stand and count for the first match of the play-offs.”

Sulom has also been ordered to foot the expenses of Wizards and Airborne during the play-offs.

Dedza Young Soccer Saints, who can appeal to FAM, has also been urged to vacate the injunction by consent.

Blessings Shaba, Harold  M’mora, Mathews Salima, Williams Nkhoma, Patrick Chambuluka  represented Dedza Young Soccer Saints while general secretary Williams Banda represented Sulom.

Banda said Sulom was satisfied with the ruling while M’mora said they had not yet received the ruling.n
