Police detain Bon Kalindo

Police at Machinga Roadblock yesterday detained UTM Party director of youth Bon Kalindo for undisclosed reasons. UTM spokesperson Chidanti Malunga confirmed in an interview last evening about Kalindo’s  detention saying the party was still waiting to be briefed on the reasons for his arrest.

As we went to press, national police spokesperson James Kadadzera and his Eastern Region counterpart Joseph Sauka did not pick up their mobile phones last evening but a police source said the UTM official
was detained in relation to an audio clip purportedly from Zomba Central Prison implicating President Peter Mutharika and one of the DPP senior members Hetherwick Ntaba in the abduction and killings of
persons with albinism.

“Right now he has just been detained at the roadblock but he will be transferred to our Eastern Region headquarters in Zomba for questioning,” she said.
