Police nab seven suspects in Namulondola operation
Region have arrested seven suspected criminals, further recovering assorted items wealth millions of Kwacha in the process.
The arrests follow an ongoing operation called Namulondola which started on March 25, and is expected to end this week.
Central Region Police deputy spokesperson Kaitano Lubrino has identified the suspects as Dan Thandizo commonly known as Professor, McJo Mwangala, Alex Yobe, Kennedy Mwenda, Akimu Kalimbuka, Gift Masiye and Dalitso Shame.
According to Lubrino, the recovered items include Plasma TV screens, laptops, cell phones, speakers, motor vehicle batteries, plastic chairs, generator, curtains and groceries.
“We are therefore calling upon all those who lost properties through theft and reported the matter to police to go to Lilongwe Police Station and identify their items,” he urged.
