Kanengo Police Station deputy spokesperson Salomy Chibwana said a group of suspected criminals had been victimising unsuspecting residents around the area and stealing assorted household items.

“Base on the information that we had, the Criminal Investigation Department team launched investigations. After a week of investigations, they recovered these goods.

Chibwana urged the public to report to police any cases of theft.

“It is very important to report to police if someone has his or her property stolen or house broken into because if we recover such property, those people can go to police and recover their property using that same file they opened when they were reporting about the incidents,” she said.

Chibwana, therefore, asked the public to be alert and inform police about any strange activities that they may encounter.

She commended the public for supporting the police in their fight against crime.
