Malawi Police Service (MPS) have called on stakeholders to help them in addressing infrastructure challenges facing the service.
Commissioner of Police for Southern Region Demster Chigwenembe said the service has numerous challenges ranging from poor housing structures to working environment.
Chigwenembe was speaking in Nsanje when Kaombe Trust face-lifted Chiromo Police Post.
“I should admit that some of our police officers are operating in pathetic environment. Most of the office structures are dilapidated as they have not been renovated since their construction way back,” he said.
Chigwenembe stressed that good working environment is crucial for one to work effectively. He, therefore, appealed to various partners to help government in changing the face of the police.
He also called upon police officers to work professionally by following police ethics.n
