Police vehicle in road accident

A Malawi Police Service (MPS) vehicle registration MP 2016 last week overturned after being hit by another vehicle in Nkhata Bay. Nkhata Bay police spokesperson Ignatius Esau said the vehicle, driven by Innocent Chikoti, was travelling from Mukwiya roadblock and was heading to the boma. He said the vehicle was allegedly hit by a vehicle registration 55 SC 31 driven by Benjamin Mkandawire as it stopped to drop an officer, Gloria Mndala. As it swerved off the road, the police vehicle hit Kenani Phiri who was cycling past it. Chikoti and Phiri sustained bruises while Mndala sustained cuts.
