Polypack face Kukoma in FMB Cricket final

Polypack will next Sunday take on Kukoma in the FMB Knockout Cricket Tournament final at Mpingwe Sports Club (MSC) in Blantyre.

This follows Polypack’s 171-137 runs semi-final triumph over Fazaya at the Oriental Cricket Club (OCC) last weekend.

MCU-cricketPolypack owe their semi-final win to the superb display by their enterprising batsman Irfan Wadia who made an individual contribution of 71 runs.

Fazaya had Aasif Rustam as their top scorer with 48 runs, but his effort was not supported by his teammates most of whom got bowled out easily.

“We salute Polypack for their success. As for us, it was a bad day. Most of our players were not committed. They failed to take responsibility in the field,” said Fazaya captain Saeed Limdawala.

Kukoma made it into the grand finale last week after beating Gold Fattani 181-170 runs in the other semi-final.

MSC executive board member and sports director Abdul Wahab Jagot said yesterday they are happy that the competition has finally reached the climax without experiencing any hurdles.
