Polypack tease Kukoma ahead of FMB Cricket final

In the build-up to tomorrow’s FMB Knockout Social Cricket final at Mpingwe Sports Club (MSC), Polypack have set the mood by mocking their opponents, Kukoma, as a weaker team than the one they faced in the semi-final.

Polypack earned a 171-137 runs semi-final triumph over Fazaya at the Oriental Cricket Club (OCC) last weekend.

Malawi-cricketYet, during the two teams’ meeting with MSC sports director Abdul Wahab Jagot yesterday, Polypack’s captain Khalil Badat said this will be half the dose they have prepared to inject into the Kukoma outfit during their impending battle for glory on Sunday.

“We are very much prepared for the final. In fact, we expect this final to be less difficult than our semi-final last weekend; it will be mere walk in the park for us because we will subject our opponents to perpetual torture in the cricket field,” said Badat.

In spite of that, captain for Kukoma Karamat Chaudhry believes his counterpart’s sentiments will just provoke his charges to embarrass Polypack with a barrage of runs and wickets.

“We will prove our case with action in the field and not a mere rhetoric. Our rivals’ opinion is just a smoke that will not develop into fire,” challenged Chaudhry, whose side triumphed 181-170 runs in the semi-final.

According to Jagot, he called for a meeting between the FMB cricket finalists to advise them on the need to maintain discipline during the last encounter of the K1 million contest so that the sponsors should not hesitate to return with another package next season.
