They may be one member short, but that is no reason for the Mighty POV to backtrack. Right now, they are in the studios brewing their fourth album.

One of the trio’s remnant members Isaac Chizaka said they are recording Ukanditchule at Lloyd Phiri’s Llohay Sound Control to follow up on their 2001 release Tiankhandwe, which was followed by Lipenga in 2005 and Madalitso Mbwembwembwe in 2009.

George Adams quit the group last year, leaving behind Chizaka and Omex Chimpeni to continue the Prophets of Vision affair.

“We are in the studios now and we have already finished recording some of the songs earmarked for the 11-track album. It will be out early next year,” said Chizaka.

According to him, they have finalised Ambuye Mukundimva, Mtima Wanga Dekha and the title track.

“Mukanditchule is based on the story of biblical Joseph in the book of Genesis. While in prison, he interpreted fellow prisoners’ dreams and he told the one who would be taken back into the king’s fold to remember him. When others do us good, we must remember them,” said Chizaka.

The group’s focus, he explained, is not merely entertaining people, but preaching the word of God.
