Powerhouse Community evangelises Namitambo

Shall God punish mankind before subjecting it to thorough warning and chastisement? Certainly, not!

It is for this reason that Powerhouse Community Outreach Team of Blantyre evangelised Namitambo in Chiradzulu last Saturday to give people in the area a priceless opportunity to surrender their lives to Jesus Christ.

Working on the theme Destiny Encounter and led by Pastor Dr Clement Nkhoma, the group invaded Namitambo football ground replete with blessings and graces to give out to anyone asking for them.

Held a few metres away from a beer joint, the crusade pooled hundreds of participants with some coming directly from the drinking point, but ready to part ways with liquor.

It was surprising, therefore, that only two men came forward when Nkhoma said there were three men whose lives had been tormented by beer for a long time.

“You have suffered for a long time. Today, God has come to rescue your life. God is determined to change your situation today no matter how sinful you might have been in the past,” proclaimed the man of God.

Nkhoma said just like God delivered Israelites who had been imprisoned for 430 years in Egypt, Malawians would be delivered from their social, political and economic problems.

“The same God is able to deliver you today. And when God wants to change your life, he doesn’t care about your past. Today could mark the beginning of your new life if you give up your life to him,” he said.

At the same crusade, tens of villagers suffering from different illnesses and misfortunes were prayed for.

Earlier, gospel songbird Ethel Kamwendo-Banda drew worshippers closer to their creator with riveting music.

The music was so touching that even Member of Parliament (MP) for the area and Minister of Education, Euncie Kazembe, who graced the occasion as guest of honour, could not resist displaying her ‘honourable steps’ as Kamwendo-Banda played the music.

“It’s one of my most memorable days. May God be praised and worshipped forever,” said Kazembe after the crusade.
