The President’s Hotel in Lilongwe has launched a series of cultural events aimed at promoting different cultures in the country.
The lofty was filled with different dishes and cocktails from Brazil with Samba and Bossa Nova music on the background.
A few patrons showed their Samba prowess as the cold night unfolded.
The hotel’s sales and marketing manager Temwa Kanjadza said: “We support cultural events as it gives people an experience of other dishes, drinks and culture itself. Soon we are starting cultural themed nights starting with Indian, nyama and seafood extravaganza. All this together with the cultural nights coming after the Brazil event, are aimed at promoting different cultures.”
Charge d’affaires of the Brazil Embassy, Leandro Pignatari said the idea was to promote the country in Malawi.
“We wanted to give more information about Rio de Janeiro as a tourist attraction. There’s a more interesting side of Brazil apart from the country being known for football,” he said.
