Phiri: Just wait for Gods will

The prophesy by self-acclaimed prophet and founder of Jesus is Coming Soon,  on his 2013 prophesy that God would change the leadership of this country before the end of last year has failed to come to pass.

Stephano Zachariah Phiri told journalists in Blantyre early last year that God was particularly unhappy with government’s failure to decisively deal with homosexuality in the country.

He interpreted his prophesy to mean that the leadership was not God-fearing; hence, the need to ‘replace it’ with a born-again Christian before December 2013.

But one month after the supposed replacement was due to happen, President Joyce Banda remain the country’s leader against Phiri’s prophesy.

When contacted this week, Phiri told Nation on Sunday that God’s time was the best.

“Just wait for God’s will to be done and it shall be done soon according to His will. May God bless you,” he said.

The prophet made several other prophesies, none of which have come to pass. But his confidence at the announcement last year was evident.

“When God told me this, I knelt down on my bed. I prayed and asked God to reverse his decision but insisted because President Joyce Banda had stopped obeying Him. God said Banda was instead bowing down to donors who were pushing her to legalise same-sex marriages,” said Phiri at the time.

Reverend Billy Kamphata Banda of Livingstones Baptist Church recently warned Malawians to beware of false prophets who he said are on the prowl to lead God’s people astray through unsubstantiated prophesies.

Banda observed that most of the latter-day prophets are out to peddle lies and make a killing out of it.
