I am a big fan of Mother Malawi’s Secrets, because it teaches me new and exciting ways in which to use the natural products I have right in my garden and my house. As someone who did not grow up in the village, some of these things are completely new to me. I have actually turned my husband into a traditional food lover with the little recipes I collect from your column!
Last week’s article on making pumpkin seed flour which can be used to enrich vegetables and other foods was another hit for our family. We even used the flour to enrich our porridge and were pleasantly surprised by the nutty aroma it gave off! I initially made a little bit just to test the waters but will definitely be making a lot more flour for storage next week.
