Besides visiting some project areas, the delegation, which arrived in the country last Thursday, donated maize flour to 2 000 families.

Said Al-saaq: “We have come to Malawi to help our brothers and sisters who are facing different challenges. We are looking at health, education and relief items and I promise that we will continue to help Malawi.”

Eid Charitable is working with Zamzam Foundation Malawi.

Zamzam Foundation director Izzeldin Abdallah said his organisation has contacted some foreign charities to support people in the country.

“We started working here in 2001 and after noticing some challenges people are facing due to dry spells, we have made contacts with foreign organisations like those from Qatar to try and help those affected,” he said.

Abdallah said since they started working with Eid Charitable in 2013, they have constructed school blocks and hospitals, drilled boreholes and taught farmers on how to make organic manure. n
