“Everything is set and we are starting camp on Wednesday in Blantyre. Government has already given us a go-ahead. Already we have K4 million for the camp government will also take care of the other expenses like air tickets. Like I always say, government has always been there for us and we are grateful,” said Chinunda.

Chinunda said 12 players have been called into camp, but the full delegation travelling to England will comprise 17, including five officials.

She said shooter Mwawi Kumwenda will not be part of the squad travelling to England.

“We are leaving on December 10 as we want the girls to have a day rest before the commencement of games on December 14. Mwawi will not be part of the team as she is not yet ready. But this trip is about exposure and learning. It is an opportunity for others to get the international exposure,” said Chinunda.

The first game will be played at Echo Arena in Liverpool on December 14, the second match at the Copper Box in London on December 17. The third and final games will be played on December 20 at the University Arena in Worcester.
