Rab Processors reaffirm South League commitment

ThumbsUp Southern Region Football Association (SRFA) League sponsors Rab Processors have reaffirmed their commitment to continue bankrolling the league after being impressed by the 2019 season.

The company started sponsoring the league this season after signing a three-year deal of K14 million per year.

Rab Processors head of sales and marketing Douglas Mandala said on Wednesday during the 2019 prize presentation at Mpira Village in Chiwembe Township, Blantyre: “This is our first season in football and we are satisfied with the competitiveness of the league and the relationship that we have.

“Be assured that we will continue sponsoring the league and we will finalise the next two seasons that remain on our three-year deal.”

He added that they would consider the SRFA’s request for sponsorship increase.

SRFA chairperson Raphael Humba thanked the company for trusting the association and he assured the sponsors of continued “professional administration of the league”.

Football Association of Malawi (FAM) executive committee member Felistas Dossi applauded SFRA for adhering to the 2019 football calendar.

During prize presentation, Red Lions received K2 million as Premier Division champions while runners-up Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve got K1 million. In Division One, champions Polytechnic FC, runners-up Max Bullets and third-placed Immigration got K1 million, K750 000 and K500 000, respectively.

In individual awards, Lions’ striker Royal Bokosi and Polytechnic’s Dalitso Malizani received K75 000 each for being golden boot winners in Premier division and Division One, respectively. Bokosi scored 44 goals while Malizani notched 43. Shaibu Kassim was named the best referee.
