“We found it important to donate the equipment today to fight the pandemic. As we all know, we are now registering more new cases.

“We hope that our help will reach clinics and other health centres in remote areas since they deal with a lot of people who need to be protected from the pandemic,” he said.

Speaking after receiving the equipment, Ntcheu district medical officer Dr Emily Jenya said the equipment is important and will help to prevent Covid-19 in health facilities.

“As Ntcheu District Hospital, we are affected by Covid-19 just as the whole country is affected. So, the equipment given to us today will complement the materials we have received in the past,” she said.

The donated items included face masks, hand sanitisers, soap, water buckets and chroline.
