Religious bodies condole Mutharika family

While the whole nation mourned the death of President Bingu wa Mutharika religious bodies also joined in condoling with the bereaved family.

CCAP Blantyre Synod through its leadership condoled the bereaved family of the late president.

“We the CCAP Blantyre Synod would like to send to the entire Mutharika family a message of condolence for the sudden death of the beloved leader,” said general secretary Alex Maulana.

Gowa Synod of the Churches of Christ in Malawi through its moderator, Reverend Tendence Suya also passed on its condolences to President Joyce Banda and the whole Mutharika family on the death of the late president Bingu wa Mutharika.

The deputy spokesperson of the Synod Reverend Lemani Kamdidi in an interview said the synod was shocked to learn of the death of professor Bingu wa Mutharika.

Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM) says it was saddened to learn the sudden demise of the late Mutharika. “May Allah grant his soul a good resting place,” read a statement from the association.

Bishop of Brighton Malasa, of the Upper Shire Anglican Diocese also condoled with the president and the Mutharika family for the loss.
