Members of the CCAP Blantyre Synod have been told to report any problems with their pastors to the presbytery instead of taking matters into their own hands.
Newly elected moderator for Blantyre City Presbytery Reverend Ernest Mpate told Nthemba congregation at the commissioning of their new pastor that they should not deal with their moderator directly if there arise differences but rather report the issue to the presbytery office.
This follows cases in which pastors have been chased from their homes by congregations within the presbytery.
“This minister is our employee and if there are some differences with him please refer any matter to us and never attempt to directly deal with him,” said Mpate.
Reverend Paul Mawaya in an interview said his priorities would be to make sure he finishes the projects he has found at the church.
Mawaya replaces Reverend Mirriam Chipeta Banda.
