Gospel artist Arnold Kilembe will this Sunday launch his recently-released third album, Ndikufuna, at Katoto Hall in Mzuzu.

The Lilongwe-based gospel musician hopes to take the launch to Lilongwe a week later, before wrapping up with Blantyre on August 25 at Blantyre Cultural Centre.

“I am planning for a double launch as I am currently shooting a DVD which will contain nine songs,” Kilembe said.

Ndikufuna, released last month, follows Kilembe’s debut album in 2006, Bwenzi lokonda, which courted the attention of many gospel enthusiasts.

It was followed by Wakonzeka four years later.

“I take time before releasing my albums because each comes with its own lessons which I make sure I rectify in my next,” 28-year-old Kilembe explained.

The latest release also features fellow budding artists Chifundo Chikonga and Blantyre based vocalist Randy Nasungwi; both of whom have confirmed their appearance at all the shows.

It features songs like Diso silinaone, Zonse n’zanu, Ndapita and a Lambya and Tumbuka piece, Yesu Yesu. Nasungwi and Chikonga feature in Chikondi and Ndapeza bwenzi respectively.

Veteran musician Reverend Chimwemwe Mhango, The Blessed Soldiers of Kamuzu Barracks, and local country gospel sensation Joseph Chadereka complete the line-up of supporting artists.
