Mzuzu-based musicians Ril B and Nenkoman have teamed up to establish a band in an attempt to venture into live music performances.
Ril B, real name Blessings Bwanali, came into the limelight with the award-winning song Mwini Zinthu which he collaborated with Blaze.
On the other hand, Nenkoman, born Never Chatsengela, is a rising musician whose song Chikhwaya has been topping MBC TV’s Makwelero Top 10 Music Chart for five weeks now.
Nenkoman said such a success has motivated the two to team up and found a 10-member group named Cool Sounds Band.
Said Nenkoman: “We want to move away from performances with CDs. We want to be giving patrons the best of music by performing live.”
He said with the band, the two will be performing nationwide. The first performance will be in Mzuzu on December 18 this year. The next performance will be in Karonga on December 26.
“This is not just about the Northern Region. It is about invading the whole country and possibly other countries as well,” he said.
Nenkoman is also known for several singles enjoying airplay on television and various radio stations.
Some of the songs are Gwedeza Mbuyo, Wanga Ndiwe, Suitcase which features Nepman, Mwationa Mbuye which features Peter Sambo and Maness which features Lulu.
The songs are part of his yet-to-be titled album scheduled for release in March next year. n
