S5 on track to retain honours

S5 stayed on course to retain the regional honours of the Presidential Under-23 Cup in the Central Region after they qualified for the semi-finals on Saturday.

S5 collected four points from a possible six at Treatment Centre to finish on top of Group B on goal difference. They drew 3-3 against Incognito before being awarded full points over Red Sea who failed to turn up.

They have finished the group at top with a 10-point tie against Incognito who were also awarded full points against Red Sea.

In the game against incognito, which was a group decider, Dema Flapsy gave S5 a lead after outplaying Dyson Saka in the first frame. Esau Chinkwende levelled the scores after he stunned Kondwani Mwase. Lloyd Dombola denied S5 full points after he outsmarted Ktendo Mozele in the last frame.

S5 team manager Justine Sulumba said the team is on track to retain the regional honours for the third time.

In Group C, Treatment made it to the last four after they finished on top with unbeaten record.
