Striker Atusaye Nyondo on Sunday netted his seventh South Africa Premier Soccer League (PSL) goal to join compatriots Robert Ng’ambi and Gabadinho Mhango as leading Malawian scorers in that country.
Nyondo glanced in University of Pretoria’s goal which was sandwiched by Anthony Laffor and Lebohang Mokoena’s goals for Mamelodi Sundowns won 2-1. Sundowns are now joint leaders with Kaizer Chiefs. Chiefs’ Bernard Parker is overall PSL leading scorer with 10 goals.
In other games, Ng’ambi was in action as his Platinum Stars returned to winning ways after beating Maritzburg United 2-1 on Saturday.  On the same day, Esau Kanyenda also featured for most part of Polokwane City’s 1-1 draw with Kinnah Phiri’s Free State Stars.
City are second from the bottom, just a step below Stars. Still in South Africa, Gabadinho played for 77 minutes before he was substituted during Bloemfontein Celtic’s barren draw at Amazulu on Sunday.
