Members of St James CCAP Church Women’s Guild in Blantyre Saturday last week donated assorted items to CCAP inmates at Chichiri Prison.

The group made the donation, valued at K100 000 (about $250), as part of its core values of helping needy people, according to the church’s session clerk Joyce Mlauli.

“We have come here to visit and encourage the inmates and share the word of God with them. There are members of the Blantyre CCAP Synod at the prison that we targeted.

“It is not like we are discriminating against inmates who belong to other churches, but even the Bible says we should start from Jerusalem.

“We are appealing to other churches to visit people in prisons because inmates are people like us,” said Mlauli.
