Saint joins forces with Jamaica’s JahDore

The dream to take local music beyond borders for one of the country’s youthful dancehall artists Saint is gradually coming to fruition following his collaboration with Jamaica’s JahDore.

Saint has featured JahDore on his new single Wicked Man.

The song, which basically chants negativity and wickedness of mankind that prevents others from progressing in life, also features a female emcee called Virtuous.

JahDore is one of the Jamaica’s respected reggae artists, who also happens to be a saxophonist and producer who has produced music of such great talents as Luciano.

Saint said he met the Jamaican and negotiated a collaborative venture when he visited the country during his African tour in May.

“I capitalised on JahDore’s visit to Malawi to work with him. Our meeting was productive because we managed to work on the song together which will be promoted both in Malawi and Jamaica,” he said.

Saint described the joint song as a platform for his international exposure.

“I have been yearning to work with Jamaican artists and this is the beginning of the journey. I believe the song will not only put me on the map but also create opportunities,” said Saint of One Last Kiss fame.

However, he said Wicked Man has been officially released off his forthcoming Bulu album.

Born Yamikani Chikwawe, Saint is a song writer, singer and performer who came into the limelight around 2013 when he dropped One Last Kiss, a song which turned over his music career.

He later went on to release other songs such Ndimalakwitsa and Ulendo which features Young D before dropping his debut album Acoustic Heart.

Saint started this year with a bang which saw him releasing another smash hit called Apita Akazi Anga, which has claimed top positions in a number of radio music shows such as MBC TV’s Makwelero.

Saint’s music career began at a tender age while at Mvera Support Battalion in Dowa where his father was working as a Malawi Defence Force (MDF) soldier. He draws his inspiration from such influential international artists as Christopher Martin, Jah Cure and Chronixx. n
