One of Malawi’s reggae acts Sally Nyundo has finalised production of his seventh album and is set to launch it on June 29.

In an interview, Nyundo said the album is all about his life’s journey over the years.

Sally Nyundo, My fans should expect fireworks

“My experience about the realities of walking the path of life is what has motivated this album. So, the title Sanctified simply means out of those experiences, I have been separated, set apart and have taken a new approach to the remaining journey of my life,” he said.

Nyundo said it took him long to come up with the album because he wanted to come up with songs that will stand the taste of time.

His promoter Chicco Mbewe said the eight-track-album, produced by South Africa-based Malawian music giant Chris Kele at Blue Arts Studios in the Rainbow Nation, signifies Nyundo’s maturity in the trade.

He said: “It’s been almost four years since Sally gave his fans anything. What has kept him busy is this production. He used his absence to produce this kind of work.”

Nyundo of the Ras Amadya Nzimbe fame said the new album, which has eight songs both in English and Chichewa, signifies that he is back.

The album has tracks such as Mwachita Zazikulu, Sanctified, Mukhale Nane, Love So Devine, Ingotola Mwala, Forgive Us Father, Ku Madzi ake Odikha, and Suffer in Silence.
