Malawi’s local reggae and ragga artist Sally Nyundo has shot a music video from his latest album Sing upon it in Nigeria.

As part of the Africa Movie Academy Awards (Amaa) organising team, Nyundo last week flew to Bayelsa State in Nigeria for the awards presentation ceremony that saw Malawi’s The Last Fishing Boat winning one award.

The artist says: “I took advantage of my visit to Nigeria to shoot a music video of one of my hits Moving Away. So, I did that at several villages chosen randomly in Lagos, Port Harcourt and Bayelsa where the Amaa party took place. The idea was to bring out the similarities between Nigerian and Malawian cultures.”

He said the video will be ready in three weeks-time. What is remaining is the mixing of the music video as not all of it was shot in Nigeria. Some parts were shot in Malawi.

“Again, I am waiting for Amaa directors who soon will be in the country establishing an office, to help me with the editing and mixing,” said the artist of the Ras Amadya Nzimbe fame.

Sally says the DVD will be ready in July as of now, only two songs are complete.
