Sana retained the 2012 Lilongwe Muslim Sports Club Cricket League championship after shrugging off Star Eleven in the final with 25 overs and 144 wickets.

Sana won the title for the second consecutive year, emerging the best from a field of 12 teams, to the delight of the club’s captain Kashif Sandhu.

He said they intend to build on their exploits as they are geared to hold an inter-club league in a few months’ time.

“We want to improve our state of performance as soon we intend to organise an inter-club league,” Sandhu is quoted as saying, according to a statement from the club.

Other teams that participated in the championship include Indian Sports Club, Randera, Nazi and Lilongwe Muslim Sports cricket side.

Lilongwe Muslim Sports Club Cricket League is an annual event that has been there for the past 15 years.
