The Blantyre-based dancehall artist is set to depart for Jamaica in early June.

“I am thankful to my sponsor, Promise Matatiyo for exposing my songs online. This is a sign  that Malawian artists can be recognised internationally,” Sangie told The Nation on Friday night at O’ Seasons Club in Mzuzu where she was performing.

She said preparations for her Jamaica performance are in progress.

“I am going there to represent my country, therefore I am supposed to prepare thoroughly,” she said.

Sangie earned a spot for her music career in 2014 having released I Do it all for Your Love.

“I started singing when I was young. However, my first track You Never Knew Love did not attract much attention. In 2004, I started my singing career on a serious note and recorded I Do it for Your Love, Ndangozizindwa and Busy and that got people talking about me,” she said.

The 21-year-old said her wish has been to penetrate the international market and the Jamaican invitation is part of fulfilling her dreams.

According to online reggae magazine ReggaeVille, Jahmiel is a rising star in the Jamaican music circles. Born August 30 1992 in Portmore, St Catherine he grew up with the love for music and is now pursuing his dreams as one of Jamaica’s finest artists in the music industry.

Jahmiel is described as a versatile artiste who prefers to apply the cross-over of reggae and dancehall to his music.
