Sanudi’s work permits finally out

At long last. Swadick Sanudi has finally obtained a work permit in South Africa. This (Sunday) afternoon, the Flames veteran goaltender is set to play for First Division side Dynamos in a league game against United FC.

Both Sanudi and Dynamos FC administrator Joe Mbiza confirmed the development on Saturday.

Sanudi said he was relieved to get a work permit after a lengthy wait and is excited with the prospect of bouncing back to action.

“It has been a long wait and I can’t wait to play because Dynamos have gone over seven games without a win.

“I thank Dynamos for being patient as well as my former team Big Bullets for being very supportive,” he said.

Mbiza confirmed that Sanudi obtained his work permit on Thursday.

“We also obtained his ITC [international transfer certificate] from Malawi FA [Friday] as he was a free agent. We are happy because Swadick is a very experienced goalkeeper and we feel he will help us in the fight against relegation.

“Over and above that, it is a relief because we did not have a good goalkeeper. He has always been part of the Dynamos family,” said Mbiza.

Dynamos are second from the bottom in the South African National First Division with 23 points from 23 games. They have seven games before they finish the league.

Bullets vice-general secretary Higger Mkandawire also confirmed having cleared the seasoned goaltender.

“As we stated earlier on, we would not stand in his way. We accepted him back in order to help him regain fitness and we are happy that he has finally obtained a work permit and we wish him all the best,” said Mkandawire.

Sanudi moved to African Warriors from Dynamos two seasons ago but did not feature for the club because at the time his contract expired, he had not yet obtained a work permit.
