Seed Co Malawi has warned farmers against buying uncertified seed if they want to maximise agricultural productivity.

The Malawi Akolole promotion was organised to sensitise farmers on the new package of Seed Co seed.

Said Chiwalo: “As a company, we always wish our farmers the best; hence, the packaging the seed in packets that cannot be copied easily. Our seeds do well in almost all the areas in Malawi and we want to urge farmers to plant seeds bought from recognised agro-dealers because that is the surest way that they will get genuine seed.”

On the promotion, Chiwalo said Malawians have a chance to harvest enough if they plant Seed Co seed; hence, the name Malawi Akolore.

“We decided to have this promotion to enhance our relationship with our customers as well as creating awareness on the new package. Apart from that, we also would like to know if the seed has reached all the corners of Malawi,” said Chiwalo.

Seed Co Commercial Director Raphael Chirwa said the company wants to thank its customers for the support rendered to the company hence the promotion.

“Even the prices that have been lined up in this promotion show that we are there for both small as well as big farmer,” said Chirwa.

The mega prize in the competition is a Ford Ranger while other prizes include bicycles, branded umbrellas, packets of seeds, zitenje, solar panels and bags of fertiliser.

The first draw for the competition will take place on December 16 while the second draw will be held on January 13 and the grand draw will be on March 31.
